Junipers can go a day or two without being watered, which makes them an excellent choice for those who leave the house or travel frequently. This also makes them a top choice for people with busy schedules and allows them to care for a bonsai that produces a stunning canopy and a sturdy bark. Another reason why Junipers are popular is that they are a naturally low-growing tree and they're actually commonly used as ground cover. Incidentally, their downward growth makes them great for cascade bonsai.
